Homecoming, Goose Eggs and Busy Bee

I'm in the throes of packing and wondering if an all you can eat crab feast was a smart idea the night before heading out on the road (who am I kidding, crab is always a good idea!) but I had to get a post and some photos in while my eyes are still open.

Wewa's high school homecoming was last weekend, which included lots of float building, a 12 minute parade Friday afternoon and Addie taking a spill at the football game, which resulted in her first goose egg - right in the middle of her forehead.

Checking out the parade

Two of our kids on Homecoming court - and I don't have on transitions lenses.
Flat shot of goose egg - trust me, it wasn't pretty
Saturday I woke up bright and early to retrieve my friend, Nicole, from the airport. Addie and Sabian stayed behind as they had a busy day of a church brunch and a birthday party ahead of them. Nicole and I took our time getting back to Wewa, stopping to eat and to do some shopping. Then, we ate dinner at my favorite place for crab cakes and watched the sun set on the beach. Addie enjoyed the new company and we had a good, relaxing visit while she was here.

Addie loves anyone who will hang her upside down!

Don't mind my "hibiscus eyes." The flower was inadvertently reflected in my glasses.
This is what Sabian and Addie were up to when we weren't around:

Who knew that an 18 month old could grow a five o'clock shadow?

And, last but not least, a friend from church gifted Addie with the following outfit:

I thought there was no way she'd keep the wings on, but she sure did. When I went to pick her up in the nursery after church Wednesday night she still had the skirt on. The nursery worker said she tried to take it off but Addie wouldn't have it. Luckily, she didn't end up sleeping in it.

Today I am thankful for my sweet husband. He planned a night out for us tonight, all you can eat crab! A post on that later.
